Neat and Tangled May Release | Complementary Colors

Hey there, welcome to the day one of the  May Neat and Tangled release. The next stamp set up is called Complementary Colors. It's a cute little stamp set that's perfect for creating whimsical cards.

This card was created with a wash of background color in blue and orange using Peerless Watercolors. The cute little painter icons were colored with Distress Inks and popped up on foam tape. Placing the card on a patterned paper gives the card a punch of color!

Neat and Tangled April Release Day 3 | Happiness Sequin Shaker Card

Hey there, welcome to the day three of the  April Neat and Tangled release. Let's shake things up a bit and look at the Happiness Stamp and Steel Die set.

To create this card begin with a white cardstock background and rectangle steel die to create the window of the shaker box. Add a transparency window and two layers of foam tape to backside of the frame. Glue some sequins from the Neat and Tangled Lemon Lime mix to the top of the card insert. Add some stamped hearts in blue ink and the sentiment at the top. Fill with sequins and glue the transparency top to the background of the card. Use the Happiness Steel Die to create the watercolored title. Glue to the front of the card and shake!

Neat and Tangled April Release Day Two | Mommy, Daddy and Me Watercolors

Hey there, welcome to the day one of the  April Neat and Tangled release. The first stamp set up is called Mommy, Daddy and Me and it's an adorable collection of baby and Mommy/Daddy animals. This is my favorite and cutest of April release.

To create this card begin with a watercolor paper background that has been die cut with a stitched edge. Next, use Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to ink blend a green background. Use a thin pain brush to add blades of grass to background with Mowed Lawn Ink. Sprinkle some water on top and blot to create droplets. Next, color all images with Copic markers. Add sentiment to a die cut flag and layer to create title.

Neat and Tangled March Release Day 1 | Hello Spring and Easter

Hey there, welcome to the day one of the  March Neat and Tangled release. The first stamp set up is called Hello Spring and it's a beautiful block of words perfect for creating seasonal cards.

To create this card begin with a die cut window card. Next, stamp the Hello Spring block text with pigment inks in green, robin's egg blue, yellow and raspberry. Additional colors will be created as you layer these four. Use a stamping press to make this process easy! Use the Neat and Tangled Spring die to create a bold title. Add a small bunny watercolored with Distress Inks and a flag with a celebrate sentiment.

Neat and Tangled February Release Day 3 | Geometric Circles

Hey there, welcome to the day three of the  February Neat and Tangled release. Today I have a brand new steel die - Geometric Circles. I love clean backgrounds and this steel die delivers! 

To create this card begin with a white cardstock rectangle and the Geometric Steel Die cut out. Next, use Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers and Fossilized Amber to create the ink blended background. Add a splash of watercolor with Distress Inks to images from the Beaver's Eh stamp set. Use foam tape to add to the front of the card and you're done!

Sunny Studios Tiny Dancer Watercolors

Say hello to the newest in Sunny Studios' release - Tiny Dancer.  I love these cute little ballerinas and the sentiments that are both beautiful and versatile.

To create this card, start with a simple watercolored background that your tiny dancers can shine on! I chose the colors based on the patterned paper placed at the bottom edge of the card. All of the tiny dancers were colored with the same palette in mind with Distress Inks. A scattering of tiny stamped daisies gives the card some movement and a dose of dainty.

I like to color and send handmade goodness and this stamp set is perfect for all the little (and big) ballerinas in my life!

Neat + Tangled February Release Day One | Ride with Me Watercolors

Hey there, welcome to the day two of the  February Neat and Tangled release. The next stamp set up is called Ride with Me and it's my favorite from this release. There's just something about bicycles that I love. Add to that a bunch of mix and match options and it's for me!

To create this card begin with watercolor paper and Zig Clean Color markers to create this dreamy, colorful background. Then simply stamp the scene right on top with black ink. It's simplicity at it's finest!

Neat and Tangled January Release Day 4 | Koalifications

Hey there, welcome to the final day of the  January Neat and Tangled release. The last set up is the Koalification stamp and die.  Who doesn't love a big-eared koala? This little guy makes for the cutest Valentine's Day cards.

To create this card I started with a white base with two die cut hearts. The openings were filled with shades of pink cardstock to give them a sunburst effect. The cute koala was watercolored with Distress Inks in Frayed Burlap and Gathered Twigs. The matching sentiment was stamped in the ribbon with black ink and a handful of sequins were placed to add a bit of sparkle!

Neat & Tangled January Release Day 2 | Beavers Eh

Hey there, welcome to the day two of the  January Neat and Tangled release. The next stamp set up is Beaver Eh! and it's my favorite from this release. The critters have a spark of cute and are really fun to color.

To create this card I started with a white base and three strips of cardstock in light salmon, hot pink and golden yellow. This gives the background a splash of color. The rectangle inner base was stamped at the bottom randomly with gray ink. The falling text adds interest to the base. The stamped images were colored with Zig Clean Color Markers and popped up with foam tape.

Wintery Good Watercolors + Sunny Studio Polar Friends

I'm "celebrating" the season with a look at a mix of wintery friends from the Polar Playmates and Playful Polar Bear stamp sets. Who am I kidding, is so not my favorite time of the year. On the upside though - this is my creative season. So I've decided to just go with it and create a wintery scene using some Sunny Studio Stamps. 

To create this card, begin with a strip of medium blue and darker blue adhered to the bottom of the card. A circle die cut of aqua cardstock was stamped with the Snow Flurries stamp to give it some movement and tie it into the theme. All of the whimsical images were watercolored with Zig Clean Color makers for a bright punch of color. They were adhered with pop dots for some added dimension. A few dew drops and the sentiment stamped in black and blue inks complete this card.

And that's it! Creating a snowy is scene is like therapy for this winter avoiding chick. At the very least - it's cute and I really love that.

Sunny Studios Gingerbread House

I'm wrapping up the Christmas card making for the season with one of my favorite sets from the Sunny Studio holiday release. This one is a dream to color. There are so many possibilities and color schemes for a village of gingerbread houses. 

I created a starry sky background with a splash of ombre watercolor using Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans and Broken China. A splatter of water lends a twinkling sky effect that gives the background great depth. The gingerbread house was colored with Zig Clean Watercolor Pens for a bright splash of color. The smaller Christmas trees are from the Christmas Home Stamp set.  The title was stamped and embossed in white ink on a black background to give it some pop. Last, a shower of Christmas lollipops were added just beneath the starry sky to give the card some movement and color

This was such a fun card to create with some simple watercolor techniques. Check out the Jolly Gingerbread stamp and steel die set for your next round of Christmas cards!

While it's not a traditional Christmas stamp set, I think the wintery feel and polar goodness of it reminds me of the season. Neat and Tangled November Release | Bunny Slop and Stitched Slopes

Hey there, welcome to the day two of the November Neat and Tangled release. The last stamp set up is called Bunny Slope and it's full of good, wintery fun. I love this one for coloring! The new Stitched Slopes steel die is also a favorite.

To create this card I started with the Stitched Slopes steel die and shades of blue cardstock. Layering them over the background with an ombre effect gives the card a cool feel and is the perfect backdrop for the bunny. The stamped images from Bunny Slope were watercolored with Peerless Watercolors and tucked in between the layers of cardstock. A few sequins lead the eye right up to that sentiment stamped in black.

Neat and Tangled November Release | It's a Christmas Pageant!

Hey there, welcome to the day two of the November Neat and Tangled release. The next stamp set up is called Christmas Pageant and it's my absolute favorite of this month's release.  Kids in costumes get me every time. I love to color images like these - it makes me happy!

To create this card I started with a plain white base so that my stamped images could really shine. Each of the little people were watercolored using Distress Inks and cut out using the Christmas Pageant Steel Die. Next, I stacked them in the shape of a Christmas tree with the star on top. The sentiment was embossed in white on red cardstock and placed at the bottom of the card to ground the design. A sprinkle of stamped snowflakes cover the blank spots and give it a wintery feel.

Neat & Tangled Final Reveal Day | Fa La La Lama

Hey there, welcome to the final day of the October Neat and Tangled release. Today we have the cute Fa La Llama stamp and steel die set along with the circles background die! This one is all about a funny pun and a very different spin on a holiday card.

I used the Neat and Tangled Circles Steel Die to set the background of the card. I then filled in each hole with bits of brightly colored cardstock. The cute llama from the Fa La La stamp set was watercolored with Distress Inks and placed in the center of the card. The final touch is the pun - my favorite part!

Neat & Tangled October Release Day 1 | Get Yeti for Christmas!

Hey there, welcome to the first day of the October Neat and Tangled release. The first stamp set up is called Get Yeti and it's all about whimsical winter and Christmas.  I love all of the different scene possibilities included in this set. Icons likes these that are easy and fun to color are my favorites.

I used the Neat and Tangled Get Yeti stamp set to create this fun Christmas themed card. The base of the card was created by blending Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade. There's a bit of green where the yellow overlapped with the blue. Next, a scene was created with a giant yeti peeking from behind purple mountains at this wintery scene. The stamped icons were all watercolored using Distress Ink. A christmas sentiment stamped in black at the bottom of the card and a sprinkle of clear sequins mimicking snow complete the card.

One Stamp | Two Looks by Neat & Tangled

Crisp air, pumpkin spice everything and cozy sweaters - it's that time of the year! What better way to celebrate the season than to create a handful of Fall cards with a token of gratitude. Let's take a closer look at the Oak Leaf stamp and steel die set and how we can create traditional and nontraditional greetings with the same set.

This is our traditionally colored Fall card. The background was created with a wash of Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks. The steel Oak Leaf die was used to cut an intricate white leaf for the center of the card. A vellum banner grounds the sentiment and a sprinkle of sequins adds movement to the card. I wrapped some twine around the card a few times to lend to the fall feel.

This is the complete opposite of our traditional card. The bold colors are eclectic, bold and fun. Two intricate leaves were cut in hot pink and white and layered in the center of the card. To fill in the white leaf, bits of cardstock were used to back the design and give it a stained glass look. The design is very similar to the traditional card with the sprinkle of sequins and banner sentiment, yet it has such a different feel.

And there you have it - two totally different looks with the same Oak Leaf stamp set. Color can make all the difference in the world!

I used the new Polar Playmates Stamp and Steel Die Set to create this card of wintery goodness. There are sentiments included to make it a holiday, birthday or generic card. I love that!

To create the card use watercolor paper and a wash of Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Tumbled Glass. Add a layer of frosty snowflakes from the stamp set in pigment inks right over the watercolored background for a cool patterned background. All of the stamped images were watercolored with Distress Inks and layered to create a scene. The fish were glued to embroidery string for a fun, textured element. A brush of Wink of Stella over the white caps of the igloo and a sprinkle of sequins finishes of the card.

Neat and Tangled September Release Day 4 | Merry Kisses for Fall

Hey there, welcome to the fourth day of the September Neat and Tangled release. The last stamp set up is called Merry Kisses with it's holiday charm and warmth. It's perfect for creating beautiful cards for the season. I will definitely be using these for some Christmas cards this year but I wanted to try something a little different with this set. I challenged myself to use the set to make a Fall card and this is what I came up with.

To create this card I used the Neat and Tangled Merry Kisses stamp set to create this fun watercolored card. The scene background of the card was  was watercolored with a splash of Distress Oxide Ink in Fired Brick and Fossilized Amber. The leaf was cut using the white cardstock and the Oak Leaf Steel Die.  This made a great place to ground the warm hugging wolves image which was colored with Distress Inks. Finally, a sprinkle of sequins was added across the design.
