Magical Goodness + Studio Calico's Starlight

I love all things Disney. That's pretty obvious if you take a closer look around here. It's a place that we travel to almost every year and I have so many photos and memories from this magical place. I love that Studio Calico's Starlight kit was perfect for some of those stories. Let me share a few.

This one from Disney California. And yes, I realize I misspelled California - a nice little dose of humility for this spelling snob is what that is. Unfortunately, it was all filmed and posted before I noticed so it's here to stay! As a consolation, there is a video on how it all came together (misspelling and all):

Next, we have a project life page with some Magic Kingdom photos that I love from a few years ago:

And then there's this one from Disney's Typhoon Lagoon park. My favorite waterpark of all time!

And then there's this little oddball. I used the Fall Document add on to document these photos from the pumpkin patch last year. I have to get in at least a little bit of the current season in there!

These were all my project for the Studio Calico gallery this month. Mostly magical, with a side of fall goodness! Thanks for stopping by.

Elle's Studio May Kit + Project Life

The kit this month at Elle's Studio is all about color, bright summery colors that I love! I probably say that every month about Elle but it's true. This kit designer is all about beautiful palettes and that's what draws me to them.

I had what I call a collection of odds and ends photos from our trip to Universal last spring. Just snapshots that I loved that didn't make it into scrapbook layouts and detail shots that I knew would be perfect for my project life spreads. They are a peek into our vacation and little moments I don't want to forget. Especially, that big pink delicious doughnut!

I love this bright yellow Nope card. It reminds me so much of the Minions in the photo with my son. A handful of sequins make it a great shaker accent.

I've been using the May Elle's Studio kit to create a few more project life spreads. I'll be back to share soon!

Project Life | Elle's Studio

Let's take one final look at the  Elle's Studio Birthday Kit. You can see other project I made with this kit here. It's hard to believe that they were both made with the same kit. That's how you know it's a good one!

Here I took out all the red, pink and golden yellow elements to create this spread about my niece's birthday. Around here we have something called the "birthday weekend", so we celebrate the actual birth date, then there's the family birthday bash and then to cap off the birthday weekend. Yes, we like to celebrate! These photos are from that weekend. They highlight the places and things my niece chose to do - it was all about the "A Dog's Life Movie", watermelon and swimming.

I painted the wood veneer number "9"to give is a pop of color, then added a line of stamped text and a few embellishments. You know I can't leave anything plain! That pocket of goodness in the center is my favorite, just after the dog stamp and the watermelon photo. I have a lot of favorites.

Check out the Elle's Studio kits, they are beautifully designed and easy to use! The birthday one is a limited edition, so make sure if you want it you grab it here.

Project Life | Documenting TV Habits

I've been binging shows for probably two years now and it never occurred to me to document what I watch! When I got Elle's Studio TV Journaling Tags it was the perfect opportunity to do just that.

I started by getting photos from Google and printing them out at 3x4. These would be the base of my layout. I used my Silhouette to cut out large numbers and then laid those over the pictures in favorite order.

The center card is where I wanted to put all the color and fun in. I used Elle's tiny alphabet stickers to repeated run the word Netflix down the card. I love that it personalizes the card and that the alphas match the colors in all of Elle's cards seamlessly.

I love the matching TV Stamp Set that coordinates with these cards. I used a bit here and there to add some text and punches of colors to all of the cards. I love the charm that stamping adds to my project life spreads.

Take a look at the Elle's Studio cards and kits. They are chock full of design and color goodness. A favorite of mine for sure.

Elle's Studio + Birthday Memories

Elle Studio is release their March kits today and they are beautiful! Along with the regular monthly kit, a special edition birthday kit is being released in celebration of Elle's 10th year in business. I used the birthday kit to create this colorful spread.

These photos are from my niece's birthday party this summer. It seems that no matter what color schemes my photos are, some how I can find something in the Elle kits to compliment them. I love that!

I paired a card and stickers from the birthday kit with the acrylic candle add-ons. Those make me very happy! Layering a label just under the candles grounded them to the card. Layering two black label stickers and a puffy heart added a third layer to the card.

I like to fill out cards with alpha stickers. The mini alphas from Elle's Studio not only match in color, but also in size. I like adding text that's custom to the event in these cards.

And my favorite thing - adding bits of the unexpected to pockets. Here it's the confetti that came with the "surprise pack" included with every order of the birthday kit. I knew I had to find a way to recycle these and they were perfect for this layout.

Check out Elle's Studio blog for more inspiration using the monthly and birthday kits this month! You can sign up for a monthly kit here. Thanks for stopping by!

XO Project Life + Elle's Studio Kit

Hello pretty little things from Elle's Studio! Here's the February kit in all it's purple glory. All of my design choices are driven by color and this one gives me a beautiful palette to work with.

This story is all about a Sunday morning we spent at the sculpture gardens. We were actually looking for the botanical gardens but somehow got turned around and ended up here. One of those happy accidents that turn out perfectly.  It was a beautiful place to enjoy the last of the warm fall days. My word how I'm missing those right about now.

I started this layout with my favorite 3x4 cards and then built the rest around them. I like to use one pocket to make a bold, eye-catching statement. Here it's that acrylic "XO" right in the center. The tumble of puffy heart stickers gives it that little something special 'm always looking for.

I love that the kit comes with sheets of die cuts and stickers. These give me lots of layering options. Here they create a perfect little bed for that picture of my boy.

Elle's Studio is my go to when making project life spreads. I love the bold, graphic designs + the colors are a beautiful thing! For more information on Elle's Studio and the full reveal of the February kit click here.

Elle's Studio Reveal | January Kit

Hey there! Welcome of the Elle's Studio January Kit reveal. I started out by gathering all of my favorite pieces - the frosted heartswhite acrylic heart, beautiful sequins and all the purple bit and pieces. The story is here is all about one of my favorite days in October. It highlights photos from breakfast and my sinful indulgence of cannoli French toast (only in Jersey). I want to remember the ordinary, it's not all about the events!

The photos for this spread have a cool tint to them. It was probably equal parts the lighting of the Fall weather and that Count shirt I love. By picking out complementary colors in the kit, the feel of the photos and story shines through.

Join me tomorrow when I'll show you how versatile the Elle's Studio January kit is - we'll go warm this time!

Project Life + Elle's Studio

Nancy Damiano Christmas Project Life Elle's Studio

The older my boy gets, the more I want to document these traditions. It's amazing how much they change in just a decade. I remember him toddling along the Christmas tree farm at 2 with a reindeer hat and me following behind. Now it's all about keeping up with him and poking fun at the Frozen "Let it Go" song that makes us both shudder. I want to remember all of the stages! I wonder how long it will be before we have a girlfriend tagging along. Double shudder.

Nancy Damiano Christmas Project Life Elle's Studio

Every month Elle's Studio wows me with their clean graphic style. It's perfect for how I want to tell my story. This month's kit includes some really fun cards with tradition and non-traditional colors (hello, touches of purple!). I think it really gives my project life album a nice variety.

While the monthly kit gives me a great base, the add on puffy stickers and tiny alphas let me add custom touches to the cards.

Here's to another season of traditions and merry making! Documenting as we go and having fun putting it all together.

Elle's Studio Kit + Project Life

I held off until after Halloween, but it's time - Christmas is in the air! I used the November Elle's Studio Kit to document a Six Flag holiday celebration.

This intricate snowflake acrylic piece is my favorite from the kit add-ons. Placing it on a bold stripe card with a sentiment and enamel dot compliments the photos without overshadowing them.

I like adding a lot of small shots to my project life spreads. The easiest way that I've found is to create this 6-picture collage using the PicMonkey app. I added the Christmas joy title right in the photo and the Love This puffy sticker to add some color and draw the eye down to the collage.

Here's a very different look achieved with the same November kit. It's light and airy and matches the crafty vibe in the photos. That's versatility!

This documents all of the making that I do in the Christmas season. I used shots of my video setup, December Daily and craft room tree to tell the story.

A little pocket full of acrylic  + veneer embellishments plus a dash of words. This is my favorite way to add movement and a special something to my project life album

Check out the monthly Elle's Studio kit. There are subscriptions available now so that you're sure not to miss out!

Project Life + Elle's Studio

Every time I break open one of Elle's kits, I know that I'm going to I'm going to get a beautiful palette to work with. The October kit has a beautiful mix of rich greens, golden yellows and aqua with subtle fall prints that are versatile.

I used this month's kit for a camping trip we took last year. The rustic wood veneer and deep, rich colors complimented my story + photos.

The center cluster is what I call "little pockets of goodness". I like movement and see through elements in my project life albums and this is an easy way to achieve that. Just fill a pocket with all the leftover goods.

This leaf print is my favorite pattern in this kit. Here I used it for a camping theme, but it would be great for fall, pumpkin patch, harvest festivals and around the home. I love the nod to theme without being overwhelming.

The intricate tree is a really old Jolee's Boutique sticker that I've had for ten or more years. I knew this day would arrive and I hoarded it for good reason! Notice how some of the photos are labeled with white Elle's Studio's stickers. In the Yogi photo, the cabin and across to the boys. This one element repeated ties all of those photos (and your eye) across the page.

If you're looking for a versatile fall themed project life, take a look at Elle's Studio. And for the first time, they are offering subscriptions!

Project Life + Enamel Dots

I've been working on catching up on summer photos in my project life album. Why is it that we take three times the pictures in those short 100 days of summer?
TLNStellaDetail

The reason I stayed away from doing project life for so long is because I hate to have a project that I always feel behind on. So I let go of that and just do a monthly spread (or five) depending on how many photos I have and what I want to say. This is what works for me.
Project Life | Nancy Damiano

I had a handful of 3x3photos but no page protectors with a 3x3 pocket. Hello Fuse tool sealer! I added a row of giant, colorful enamel dots to the bottom of the pockets and then sealed them up with the tool. That created a perfect spot for my 3x3 photos straight in the center.

I like to make what I have on hand work. The Fuse has really helped me to stick with that. It's definitely been cheaper to buy the tool than to buy all different page protectors.
TLNFishNico

If you're wondering what I did with the other side of this page protector - this is it! You have to remember to plan out both sides when you seal up pockets. It was easy enough to repeat the same design on the opposite side - giant enamel dots back to back and all!

Project Life + Kit

I've been doing more and more project life pages since switching over to the 9x12 size. I find the layouts coming together really easily and I love that I can include more photos and still have room for the colorful things.

Pink and with hints of yellow were the theme this time.  The color palette reminds me of the big coral building that make up the Atlantis Resort. That’s what inspired the design here.
TLNAugKitAtlantisI kept this one very simple with a mash up of iPhone photos. The story is about how much we enjoyed our fancy adult dinners. Bobby Flay was amazing!

I like highlighting the words that already come printed on the cards with some of my own. On the title card I added my chipboard title just underneath, some stamping and an enamel dot. So that very flat card became personalized with a few quick mods. I used the July Scraptastic This Life Noted kit to create this page.

May Project Life

I've been doing a monthly Project Life spread since the beginning of the year and I'm happy to say that 5 months later, I'm current and sticking with it! I avoided Project Life because I have enough deadlines in my life and I didn't want a project like that hanging over my head week after week.

Thing is, I love the look of pocket scrapbooking and documenting the everyday things. The solution for me is to do a monthly spread using the Scraptastic This Life Noted kit. Here's a look at one side of my May spread.
I didn't have much time to dedicate to project life this month. Between end of school parties and getting ready for vacation, I had 2 hours left to print, document and decorate.
I love that type of flexibility where depending on how much time I have to spare, my spread can range from super simple (above) to more detailed (below).

Last month I had more time to add hand stitching, sequins and tons of photos.
Keeping it simple or embellishing it up. Making Project Life fit your schedule makes for a happy scrapbooker!

To subscribe to the Scraptastic This Life Noted kit, you can sign up here. They sell out every month, but if you want to try it out just for one month, check back on the 1st of each month to see if it's available.
