My Little Yankee

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite T-Ball pictures from this season. This was the first time Nico played and it was quite the experience. I think baseball in general is a very slow moving sport and he got bored in the outfield.

What he loved most about it was this snazzy uniform. I swear he was more excited about putting that outfit on and pretending to be a Yankee, than actually playing. I thought he looked stinkin cute in it too.

And really, it wouldn't be Nico without a little 'tude on the field. He wasn't happy about how long it was taking his team mate to hit the ball. He was waving his arms around at the poor kid, but I couldn't get a picture because I had to supress a laugh and then reprimand my little Napoleon.

This up here is what he liked to do. He told me that batting is where the action is. He didn't want to play the outfield, he just wanted to be a batter.

And then a little more Nico attitude on the field. Let's just say that it was a long season and Nico learned that being part of a team means doing the boring stuff too.

And the final shot...
Every single day he loses more and more of his sweet little baby face. In this picture I can see a glimpse of what he's going to look like in the years to come. My baby boy is growing up right before my lens.
Have a good weekend everyone! I'll have some Christmas and summer layouts up soon...Nancy

Flying Flying Flying

I was browsing through some of my old layouts and these two caught my eye. Probably because they are my favorite color scheme - aqua blue and orange. Actually, aqua blue and anything is my favorite color scheme. It just seems to work with most of my pictures. Maybe it's a boy thing?
This one on top took me forever and a day because I really wanted to use the cloud paper (for the kites) and the sun paper. I finally made it work by combining the October Afternoon clouds, Fancy Pants sun paper and Cosmo Cricket everything else. The chipboard title is old and I painted it barn red. So in just a mere 3.5 hours (ha), voila - one kite flying layout.
And to make up for that kite layout, this one was done probably in an hour or so. I think this is a sketch from somewhere, but I can't remember where I got it from. It may be from amillionlittlethings.com - so thank you if that's where it originated from. And if not, my apologies! I love how it's almost a crisscross pattern. All of the patterned paper is vertically laid and all of the photos/journaling/title are horizontal. It's a cool effect.
All of the paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Lil Man line and the brown alphas are Pink Paislee.

Batting Practice

This has been a busy week in the Damiano household. I've been running around like a madwoman with Nico in tow, meeting all our friends & family for the last playdates of summer. I had one short day of downtime this week so all I got done was this one layout. It seems that I've really slowed down with scrapping this summer. I miss it!

Here's another simple, clean layout using mostly Cosmo Cricket paper and chipboard. I love the color combination in the stripe paper and based the layout on this scheme. The cloud paper is October Afternoon and I thought it was a great way to break up all of the solids.

Those huge black letters are rub-ons by Autumn Leaves and they are at least a couple of years old. Love that! They are also top-notch as far as rub-ons go, they go on smoothly and with very little rubbing. I couldn't believe they were in such great shape after sitting in a drawer for 3+ years.

I haven't done a 2-pager in a while and I really enjoyed working in the larger format. I have a feeling that you will see alot more like this in the next two weeks!
