Nancy Damiano Christmas Layout Pink Paislee

Counting down the days till Christmas with a wish list that can be found in the Winter issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine. Have you downloaded a free copy? It's a great publication with many ideas and great articles.

The wreathes were created with a beautiful steel die by Concord and 9th. I've made so many tiny wreaths and Christmas trees this season. It's addicting and the detail is amazing. I love the super clean cuts that steel dies deliver. Makes for easy crafting!

Project Life + Elle's Studio

Nancy Damiano Christmas Project Life Elle's Studio

The older my boy gets, the more I want to document these traditions. It's amazing how much they change in just a decade. I remember him toddling along the Christmas tree farm at 2 with a reindeer hat and me following behind. Now it's all about keeping up with him and poking fun at the Frozen "Let it Go" song that makes us both shudder. I want to remember all of the stages! I wonder how long it will be before we have a girlfriend tagging along. Double shudder.

Every month Elle's Studio wows me with their clean graphic style. It's perfect for how I want to tell my story. This month's kit includes some really fun cards with tradition and non-traditional colors (hello, touches of purple!). I think it really gives my project life album a nice variety.

While the monthly kit gives me a great base, the add on puffy stickers and tiny alphas let me add custom touches to the cards.

Here's to another season of traditions and merry making! Documenting as we go and having fun putting it all together.

American Crafts Christmas Tags + Photos

Nancy Damiano Christmas American Crafts

Tis the season for gift giving! What better way to personalize gift giving than with photo gift tags.  I like these because I have a few preschoolers who can't read, but they can sure spot their photo!

Create a beautiful collection of family photos gathered under the tree. It’s a great way to dress up and a super simple project that you can create in one sitting.

Start by printing 2x2 photos and cutting down the tags from white cardstock. Next, grab a handful of supplies including some washi tape, wood veneer trees, a re-inking Christmas stamp, scissors and some string. That's it, now get to it! I made these while binging on a 'This is Us' marathon and it was just enough to keep my hands busy but still able to watch all that goodness!

Mini December Daily + Pinkfresh

Decorating for the holidays is one of my favorite parts of the season! I made a quick mini album to display some of my favorite ornaments we've collected through the years. The Pinkfresh Oh Joy! Collection has the perfect mix of classic Christmas icons and colors for this type of project.

To create the cover, cut a solid snowflake die cut to a 4" diameter and embellish with the gold and aqua chipboard stickers. The "merry" title is from the acrylic mirror stickers from the Oh Joy collection - it's my favorite part!

A few die cuts and some patterned paper create the base for this page. The rubber charm sticker is from last year's Pinkfresh christmas collection and it matches perfectly!

Repeating the same shape as the cover, this snowflake features a die cut in the center, a puffy title and some simple stamping.
To make this shaker page, cut a divided page protector on three sides. Then fill with a small photo, tiny star confetti and a handful of embellishments from the Oh Joy collection. Machine sew the top to seal up he pocket.

Showcasing a favorite ornament is as easy as creating a bed of beautiful layers. Patterned paper, a few die cuts and a transparency frame out the photo.

Using a 4x4 photo as a page base is a beautiful way to highlight a favorite photo. Placing the Magic title and some sticker strips in the shape of a Christmas tree adds a nice touch without taking away from the photo.

This snowflake is double sided. There is a square photo of the same size on the back. It's a clever way to add more photos and keep the shape uniform. Always think ahead about both sides!

Making simple books like this is a nice alternative to the grind that a daily December album can become. I find that if I can tackle a project I can finish in one night, just maybe I can go for an entire album!

Counting Down the Snow + American Crafts

American Crafts Dear Lizzy Nancy Damiano

There's no denying it, snow season is here! This is not my favorite time of the year in the Northeast, but I go with it and can appreciate the beauty and quiet that snowstorms bring. I wanted to highlight that with this photo of my husband and son sledding behind our house. Notice that I'm taking the photo from my nice, cozy home!

American Crafts Dear Lizzy Nancy Damiano

The idea for this page came from these numbered Dear Lizzy chipboard tags. They are my favorite embellishment from the Saturday line and I wanted to highlight them. What better way to do that then to tell the story of all the blizzards we plowed through last season.

I love how versatile these are - you can use them to count down any theme. They also add a really nice splash of color to the crisp, white background.

This page design is clean and graphic. The black and white title gives it a nice clean look. By layering a script title from Dear Lizzy Hello and a smaller, plain Dear Lizzy Petals Thicker font, the title is bold and balanced. I love how the Dear Lizzy Petals Thickers look like "snow" is falling right in the letters.

This story is a reminder to appreciate the little things that the coldest season of the year brings. Frostbite and all.

Process Video: Blended Ink Techniques + Felicity Jane

The minute I spotted the solid "now what?" stamp in the Emeline kit, I thought polka dots! And so that's exactly what I did. A beautiful burst of rainbow hues on a stark white background.

Take a look a the video to see how the blended ink technique is achieved. It's a lot simpler than it looks.

Creating custom backgrounds is a great way to use stamps. The colors and pattern possibilities are endless!

Elle's Studio Kit + Project Life

I held off until after Halloween, but it's time - Christmas is in the air! I used the November Elle's Studio Kit to document a Six Flag holiday celebration.

This intricate snowflake acrylic piece is my favorite from the kit add-ons. Placing it on a bold stripe card with a sentiment and enamel dot compliments the photos without overshadowing them.

I like adding a lot of small shots to my project life spreads. The easiest way that I've found is to create this 6-picture collage using the PicMonkey app. I added the Christmas joy title right in the photo and the Love This puffy sticker to add some color and draw the eye down to the collage.

Here's a very different look achieved with the same November kit. It's light and airy and matches the crafty vibe in the photos. That's versatility!

This documents all of the making that I do in the Christmas season. I used shots of my video setup, December Daily and craft room tree to tell the story.

A little pocket full of acrylic  + veneer embellishments plus a dash of words. This is my favorite way to add movement and a special something to my project life album

Check out the monthly Elle's Studio kit. There are subscriptions available now so that you're sure not to miss out!
